Stone setting is the process of putting a stone into a bezel to strengthen and keep the stone in place.
Step 1: Measure the stone using the digital or traditional ruler.
Step 2: Cut the measured length (and a little extra) out for the bezel, it is better to have extra then not enough.
Step 3: Shape the bezel around the ring mandrel so it fits around the diameter of the stone.
Step 4: Soldier the bezel edges to join the cut edges (more images under the soldier technique).
Step 5: Push the bezel so that the stone is secure.
Step 6: Polish the sides of the bezel. This finishes the rough edges and creates a shiny, polished side.
Final Product: The stone is set into the bezel with was soldered onto the bracelet to finish the piece.
